Mickey Mouse shaped solar farm powers Disney World in Florida

The solar farm in Orlando Florida is part of Disney's commitment to reduce their carbon footprint by 2020. The Mickey Mouse head shaped solar farm is made up of 48,000 solar panels and started operation in April 2016 to power Walt Disney World Resort and several other hotels and resorts in the area.

 The solar panels are arranged in 3 circles that create the iconic shape of Disney's most famous mouse figure. The Mickey head solar farms facility is located on an 8 hectares territory and is capable of producing 5 megawatt that is the same capacioty as about 1000 rooftop solar installations.

Constructed by Us energy company Duke Energy in collaboration with Walt Disney the solar farm supplies clean energy through a power purchase agreement with Randy Creek Improvement District
